Renton Airport
Great news for Boeing and for workers employed directly and indirectly. But what does this mean for airport traffic and noise? I don’t mind the noise of a brand-new 737 taking off once or twice a day: to me that’s the sound of economic gain. But the noise from the small jet and propeller traffic is annoying. Can we reduce that kind of traffic and noise in return for more rent/stability from the new Boeing lease?

That’s what the Boeing lease does – if Boeing were to go away, all that land would be leased out to business jet operators. They would drive us nuts flying at all hours of the night – most old business jets (most of them) are louder than 727’s.
The cure to not being bothered by prop planes is to go an a flight yourself – the noise goes from being annoying to being a reminder of having fun.
