The maples which tower over my home looked almost on fire when I arrived home today. The colors are so beautiful right now.

potential heartbreak
Every beautiful tree in the fall reminds me of what has happened in our neighborhood, and in so many others. You could walk out tomorrow and find this tree gone, and the city would not even care. Nothing protects them. Drive around and admire the wonderful autumn foliage- while simultaneously imagining the owners of each tree cutting them down. Their protection should be more than a matter of chance.
