The Seahawks have posted a really nice video about Renton featuring former Seahawks fullback Mack Strong and his wife Zoe. They talk about the Seahawk training camp, Coulon Park, the Farmers Market, the Landing, Renton’s 258 restaurants (including espresso stops), and many other amenities which will give visitors a perfect day when they come to watch Seahawks training. Sportscaster Tony Ventrella hosts.

Yawn
Randy,
That finance meeting last week was a snoozer, but the Committee of the Whole talked about the Renton West Hill annexation process. The Reporter says that Mayor Law is going to recommend against annexation if he can’t shake down the county for 2.5 million for Renton West Hill annexation expense sharing.
I want a chance to school RentonBen regarding the value of including all of Renton in the city boundaries.
Please start / restart the Renton West Hill annexation thread.

Re: Yawn
We don’t need skyway – we got enough stripmalls and shitty housing with the last annexation.
Re: Yawn
Do you mean the Duvall South annexation? Which was completed on 10/30/2009. Stripmalls you mean like in the Landing which most of is located within the original City of Renton that was incorporated in 1901?
I believe all areas of Renton have all kinds of housing.
List of annexations throughout the life of Renton.

Re: Yawn
Benson has been a disaster for Renton as we had to poor police and money into it. We don’t need an more of King County’s slums in Renton.
Interesting discussion at the Council Of The Whole – there’s no easy answer to the Skyway annexation. There’s good people there that need the help, but it would cost current Renton citizens a degradation of services.
If you’re curious how your council responded, check out here:

Armondo’s
Since it’s mentioned in the video, thought I’d share this with you too:
Armondo’s Cafe Italiano is introducing new lunch and dinner menus on August 6th. The dishes will change seasonally and focus on local ingredients. Guests are encouraged to order family-style and share plates – the true Italian way of eating!
The restaurant will also be offering winemaker’s dinners, chef’s dinners and cooking classes once a month.
