Renton in today’s USA today, for playing a significant swing role in the governor’s race. Interestingly, many Renton Obama-supporters are reportedly voting for Rossi in the governor’s race. Click here to read the story.
What do you think is the reason? Was it Gregoire’s close association with ex-mayor Keolker?
Interesting that this issue gets national press.

Boy, I would give our citizens a lot more credit than that! The Keolker connection is old news, and hardly relevant. My take is, the deplorable local economy with the state budget deficit, and current unemployment rates- yet Gregoire continues to focus on social issues that have little to do with the Governors position. Same scenario on a National Stage- when McCain focused on Ayres, instead of the issues at hand.
I realize both candidates are running negative adds, but it seems hers are more nasty, and petty….
A Local Litmus Test?
What this says to me, is we actually have a litmus test to figure out if you’re really an independent or not. Here we go . . . .
If you’re voting McCain and Rossi, you’re clearly a Republican. You ignore Bush’s 8 years of failure but you’re ready for Rossi’s fresh leadership.
If you’re voting Obama and Gregoire, you’re clearly a Democrat. You want “hope” and “change” from what we’ve had, but you have no problem letting Christine off the hook for her horrible leadership.
If you’re voting Obama and Rossi, you’re truly an independent. You want new ideas and new leadership and you’re asking for it from both Obama and Rossi.
C’mon, look in the mirror and tell me I’m wrong.
Re: A Local Litmus Test?
And I guess if you’re voting McCain and Gregoire, you were dropped on your head as a baby.

I know this is an older post, but that comment cracked me up
Re: A Local Litmus Test?
Well, let’s see. Bush has not had 8 years of failure for one. He inherited a crummy foreign Clinton led policy and we got attacked. And then there’s the crummy Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac socialist program he inherited and despite the Republicans attempts to warn of impending doom, the Dem’s continued on. So now that is out of the way.
Obama nor Rossi have new ideas anymore than McCain does. Like there’s a manuscript for Bush to hand over to McCain? Talk about low hanging fruit comments. Anyone who runs for any office has “new ideas”. Copyright that! Fresh leadership is good, and either person running has fresh ideas, duhhhhh! To vote for Obama is like hiring a legally blind person to fly a plane. I have little trust for politicians because sooner or later they all start to cater to some sort of special interest groups. So all I can do is look at their track records and hope for the best. Everyone is human, and so are the candidates. They are prone to mistakes like we all are, but the difference currently is one is conniving and makes decisions based on whatever is in his best interest to get the job while the other one at least tries to make his decisions based on what he perceives is in the best interest of AMERICA. So one looks out for himself primarily (non-team playing ball hog) and the other puts the team ahead of his self interests (team player, good person).
